Police Arrest Elderly Woman, Destroy Her Home, Then Arrest Cameraman – Lawsuit Pending

Police responded to a reported incident at a residential home, but witnesses and neighbors repeatedly told officers the suspect had already left the area. Despite this, police escalated the situation into a prolonged standoff at an empty house, deploying tear gas and causing extensive damage to the property.

The homeowner — a 60-year old woman — objected to the destruction of her home, insisting the suspect was not inside. Instead of standing down, officers arrested her for disorderly conduct and removed her from the scene, allowing the operation to continue without her present. She was later released and forced to walk over a mile back home in a nightgown and slippers.

An independent videographer @policethepolice719, who was documenting the incident and assisting the property owner was later tackled and arrested after refusing to identify himself despite committing no crime. The footage captures the encounter and the aftermath, including injuries caused by excessively tight handcuffs.

The following day, attempts to file a complaint were met with further resistance from police leadership. A lawsuit has since been filed and is currently pending.
