Security Guard Demands ID – Police Educate Everyone Instead

Throwback Thursday takes us back to a day when a simple camera turned into a full-blown meltdown inside a public facility where school buses are staged. What started as routine filming quickly escalated when employees surrounded me, security demanded identification he had no legal authority to require, and the police were called over a camera.

Instead of removing the cameraman, officers arrived and clarified the law — confirming the public’s right to record in publicly accessible areas. Once the facts were explained, the situation changed fast… and the walk of shame said the rest.

Know your rights. Stay respectful. Cameras don’t break the law – ignorance of it does.
